we were surprised to find this jewel in the middle of the growing area. the nearby town has all you could need. the food in the cafe/bar was very good , if limited in choice. the staff were helpful and friendly and we will certainly return.
We loved this campsite. The location is ideal for exploring further along the coast or into the mountains. The campsite is quite new and very well kept. The toilet/shower blocks are excellent and kept very clean. The pitches are pea gravel, marked by hedges and with electric and water on each pitch. The site was quite lively during the day but always fell silent well before the quiet times. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small shop in the bar which has limited selections but there are lots of supermarkets within a short drive. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
Liked: the toilets and showers were clean and good!
Washing machines did a good and proper wash!
Disliked: The village was dead Monday-Friday so don\'t expect any local bars or restaurants.
It kind of grows on you! The pitches are pretty compact even if you upgrade. This meant that when we were allocated a pitch it had cars on it. Campers used a pitch for their motor home/ caravan, one for their car and one for their washing.... and there was no way they were moving anything!
Free wifi at the bar was okay.
Wifi you paid for in your pitch was excellent though only one device could be logged on at any one time.
The restaurant lacked any atmosphere and service was sparse.
The bar food was fine but you pay a bit more for being on the campsite.
We are runners used the beach road to run out along, found that locals did not really like runners!
This campsite has got it right....it\'s spotless with nice size plots & separation hedges on most. The bar/ restaurant is very good and the staff are very friendly and there is a great atmosphere, free tapas with your drink is a nice touch. It has all the amenities even down to a dog shower & Dog poop area. The bins are situated just outside which is what all campsites should do. Unfortunately there isn\'t really any life around, the small village \"Balermo\" is like a ghost town and leading up to the campsite is field after field of poly tunnels but don\'t be put off as the campsite is great, quiet and relaxing and the beach is just across the road and we would go back for sure. Small issue was the wifi wasn\'t very strong. Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one.
One of the best sites we have stayed at in Spain. Newly constructed (2 years old?) and the designers have clearly done their research. The whole sight is gravelled, with good size pitches all with water, electricity, drains and a mesh overhead sunshade and developing plants between. All staff are very welcoming and helpful and went out of their way to assist me when I needed a spare part for my fridge. All facilities are well maintained and there was plenty of hot water. The whole site is clean with security lights and controlled entry. There is a fine swimming pool (and separate kiddies pool) and a basic children\'s play area. Also a large inflatable \"pillow\" sunk into the ground which both children and adults alike found great fun. There are also other sporting facilities with equipment available from reception. The area is less attractive as the campsite is surrounded by ugly poly tunnels. The beach is across the road outside the camp entrance and is of the stone/shingle type. There is a fairly steep drop off into the sea and care would be needed with children. An excellent site for visiting Almeria. If I had any recommendations it would be to have a shade over the kiddies pool, a better play park ( the current equipment is made of metal which in the heat becomes very hot), a drinks/snack facility in the pool area (reportedly coming in 2017) and more hooks in the wash basin area! A first class facility and highly recommended.
This was a lovely site that couldn\'t be faulted. Such a shame the surroundings let it down as it is nestled between miles of plastic with a scruffy beach opposite.
Very clean and good sized pitches; easy walk to the beach; the surroundings are not very nice to look at but this can\'t be helped and it wouldn\'t put me of going again.
Ignore the polytunnels and enjoy some real Spain in the village. Three days became three weeks. Not a tourist trap/hot spot. Good pitch sizes with various heights of share covers or none at all. Some work being done to finish poolside cafe. Recommended if you like it quiet (except for usual weekenders).
Friendly and informative staff. Site has good size pitches with individual hook up and water, the surface is large gavel. There is little shade as the trees and shrubs have not fully developed due to it being a new site. There is a bar/restaurant which does meals of standard quality. Free Tapas with drinks. The shower and toilet block are immaculate. There is hot water for clothes washing. There is also a cubicle for showering the dog. The beach is on the opposite side of the road. 10 minute walk into the local village where there is a supermarket, bars and restaurants (a lot closed for the winter). The site is surrounded by cultivating crops which are all grown under plastic sheeting, there is miles and miles of it!
First class camp site with excellent facilities. On arrival we were greeted by the owner who was very pleasant and polite. The site is well laid out and although relatively new much work has been done to ensure the pitches provide some shade and afford some privacy. A lot of new planting has already been done which will further enhance the pitches. The toilet, showers and washing up areas are immaculate and are the best that I have encountered in Spain. There are two pools, a small one which is ideal for children and a very large one for swimmers. The pool surrounds are good and there is a good few sunbeds. There is a small shop and restaurant on site. Wifi access is excellent and we had no issues with the speed. With regard to the location you need to close your eyes to the surrounding poly tunnels and look up to the Andalucian hills which provide a lovely backdrop. Would highly recommend this site as a top notch place to stay.
